Before the Shoot
The Welcome Guide
Once we finish booking your session I will send you a Welcome Guide with suggestions on outfits, a checklist of things to do before the shoot, and a few reminders. It is also a checklist of items to complete the day of the shoot in order to best prepare you and your horse for a relaxed experience.

The Day of the Shoot
Arrival and Scouting for Locations
Depending on my familiarity with our shooting location, weather, etc. I will arrive about 45 minutes prior to the shoot to introduce myself, check in, and scout the area for ideal shooting settings. I’ll also use this time to see if there are any areas where we absolutely need to shoot, or should avoid shooting (all horses have that one “scary” corner of the ring).

The Shoot: Part 1
The Black Background
The classic “black background” photo that will inevitably be your phone background for the next decade. We will start our session off in your barn or an indoor/semi indoor area taking photos of you and your horse, then just your horse alone. This helps everyone get used the the camera in a safe and familiar environment for your horse.

The Shoot: Part 2
Outdoor Lifestyle
Once we (aka, your horse) all conclude that the camera is not scary, we will move outdoors to shoot what is commonly called “lifestyle” photos. We will cover everything from leading, standing, petting, and riding depending on your comfort level.

After the Shoot
Gallery Delivery
Once your photos are selected and edited, I will send you an online gallery link to your photos. Each one will be retouched and delivered in the highest possible resolution. You are welcome to print your photos through my gallery, or go somewhere more convenient to you. That’s it!
